The case of Terri Schiavo raises complex issues. Yet in instances like this one, where there are serious questions and substantial doubts, our society, our laws, and our courts should have a presumption in favor of life. According to Florida law, it is the spouse who has the ultimate say in the future of the incapacitated. The question we should be asking here is “Should the law dictate who has the best interest of the incapacitated in mind?” A husband who has started another family outside the marrige? No.

I wonder how this prick would feel if he stood in the shoes of Terri’s mom and one of his own (bastard) children were in Terri’s position.
