While doing some remodeling on a previously unused building at work, we heard some squeaking from overhead. Opening up a ceiling tile, I reached in, expecting to pull out a baby rat. Instead, what I grabbed was a baby squirrel.

I was really amazed that everyone was scared of it. This little guy looked to be severely dehydrated and probably wouldn’t have lasted the weekend. My guess is that moma squirrel must have gotten into the rat bait that had previously been set out. Lucky for me, we have a wildlife sanctuary only a couple of miles away. A couple of hours later, I got a call that some more squeaking had been heard in the same area of ceiling, so I did some digging and pulled out two more.

Unlucky for me, I also discovered that moma squirrel had used insulation for the nest, so I spent the rest of the day scratching like a hound dog.
With that out of the way, we now return you to my regularly scheduled bad attitude.
