Tropical Depression 24. The NHC is calling for this to become an intense hurricane over the next few days. So, what’s the next storm name letter? W? We should call this one Hurricane WTF.

Mayor Negligence? Gov Boo Hoo? Are you paying attention here?

Instead of going on a rant here, I’ll just quote a bumper sticker I saw today that perfectly fits this situation:
Support Insecurity
Be Politically Correct
two surveys conducted in Mexico asked: “If at this moment you had the means and opportunity to go to live in the USA, would you go?” Almost half – 46 percent – said yes.
When asked if they would be inclined to work and live in the USA “without authorization,” meaning illegally, 21 percent said they would.
Showing that interest in emigrating isn’t confined to the poor, more than one-third of Mexican college graduates said they would move to the U.S. if they could, and more than one in eight said they’d be willing to migrate even if they had to enter the country illegally.

Are those numbers a little scary? Perhaps you should make your voice heard.
As the victim of two major hurricanes in ten months, I’m offended by the University of Miami’s continued use of the name Hurricanes. It seems that the NCAA could do something about that, but I guess they’re too busy banning Native American’s names and logos (banning being a subjective word – “Play the game our way or stay home.”) It seems that in their ultimate wisdom, Florida State University’s use of the name Seminoles is considered “Hostile and Abusive.” What a load of hypocritical BS. Go to their online store and check out all of the FSU gear that they make money off of. They’re not offended enough to not make a buck off of the team they’re trying to smack down. FSU has the blessing of the Seminole tribes of Florida and Oklahoma to use their name, but the liberal weenies of the NCAA must know what’s best for the Seminoles and that they can’t speak for themselves.
What’s next? Holy Cross can no longer be the Crusaders (don’t want to offend the Muslims.) South Carolina can no longer be the Gamecocks (actually, PETA already has that one covered.)
As Jeb Bush summed it up: “The folks that make these decisions need to get out more often.”
Update: Petition to NCAA ruling
Update #2: FSU: 1-0 to start the season

…while you let the woman, who was in the truck with you, take the gas can to nearest gas station (about a one mile round-trip hike.)
With all of the crying from our “elected officials” and rhetoric from the MSM, it looks like we need a reminder from Darryl Worley:
I hear people saying we don’t need this war
I say there’s some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground
We didn’t get to keep ‘em by backing down
They say we don’t realize the mess we’re getting in
Before you start your preaching let me ask you this my friend
Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell
And you say we shouldn’t worry ’bout bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it’s too disturbing for you and me
It’ll just breed anger that’s what the experts say
If it was up to me I’d show it everyday
Some say this country’s just out looking for a fight
After 9/11 man I’d have to say that’s right
Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell
And you say we shouldn’t worry ’bout bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
I’ve been there with the soldiers
Who’ve gone away to war
And you can bet that they remember
Just what they’re fighting for
Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell
And you say we shouldn’t worry ’bout bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Some went down like heros in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost and those left to carry on
Don’t you tell me not to worry about bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?
I’m sitting here at the computer and hear a rustling sound coming from the crawl space beneath the AC unit. I open up the filter door and notice a few little “mouse raisins.” So, I load up a mouse trap and place it in there. Less than an hour later – SNAP! I give it a few minutes to let the commotion subside. Looking in, I see that the mouse had managed to get free of the trap, but was still alive. Well, I kinda felt sorry for it, so I dug out a hammer to put the little bastard out of its misery. I swear I didn’t give it much more than a love tap and got frigging mouse blood sprayed all over my face. I never imagined that something so damn small could smear so much blood all over the place. Next time I’ll let it suffer.
Okay, I gotta go scrub my face some more…
My place of employment likely has the only men’s room with pink fish on the wall.

The case of Terri Schiavo raises complex issues. Yet in instances like this one, where there are serious questions and substantial doubts, our society, our laws, and our courts should have a presumption in favor of life. Those who live at the mercy of others deserve our special care and concern. It should be our goal as a nation to build a culture of life, where all Americans are valued, welcomed, and protected – and that culture of life must extend to individuals with disabilities. –George W Bush
According to Florida law, it is the spouse who has the ultimate say in the future of the incapacitated. The question we should be asking here is “Should the law dictate who has the best interest of the incapacitated in mind?” A husband who has started another family outside the marrige? No.
I wonder how this prick would feel if he stood in the shoes of Terri’s mom and one of his own (bastard) children were in Terri’s position.
…to love and to honor, in sickness and in health? or to leave to wither until a dried husk?
